Tennis star Andy Murray won “the best title” of his
career by winning the BBC Sports Personality of the Year for the third time in
four years. In doing so he became the first person to land the prize three
times and in successive years.
The 29-year-old was the huge
favourite after retaining his Olympic title and winning Wimbledon for the
second time on his way to overtaking Novak Djokovic ending the year as
Britain's first ever world no1.
The award was presented by Jessica
Ennis Hill and Prince William at a ceremony in Birmingham but he wasn't present
at the award show. The award was presented to him physically by three-time
heavyweight world champion, Lennox Lewis.
