A popular PDP member of the House of
Representatives, Mr. Edward Pwajok, has defected to the All Progressives
Congress from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party.
Edward Pwajock, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member in the
house of representatives, has defected to the All Progressives Congress
(APC).
Yakubu Dogara, speaker of the house of reps, read Pwajock’s letter in plenary on Wednesday.
Pwajock, representing Jos east/south federal constituency of
Plateau state, said he left his former party because of the crisis
there.
Reacting, Leo Ogor, minority leader of the house, faulted Pwajock’s
excuse for citing factions in the PDP as an excuse for defecting.
Simon Lalong, governor of Plateau, was in the green chamber to witness the announcement of Pwajock’s defection by the speaker.
Speaking with journalists after the announcement was made, the
lawmaker said his constituents have been clamouring for his defection
due to the PDP’s crisis.
