WhatsApp users around the globe are reporting outages with the highly popular messaging app. Website status tracking sites like downdetector are receiving numerous reports of downtime.
WhatsApp has yet to respond with a downtime notice on social media or on its blog as of posting. It’s currently unclear what is causing the issues or when things will be back online.
Twitter is exploding as people go online to report the messaging service has stopped working. Users attempting to send messages are reporting the app is locked on the “connecting” screen.
This happened at round 9pm, African Time. It’s a general issue which we believe is been worked upon soon.
