The ex-husband of the British grandmother
who married a 27-year-old Nigerian man believes she’s being scammed by
her new husband who’s she trying to help to get into the UK.
Earlier this week, Angela Nwachukwu who
met her now husband CJ after he added her on Facebook, and married him
just two months later, spoke of her heartbreak after CJ, who is 45 years
her junior, was denied a visa to join her in the UK.

Her ex-husband, Donald Neate, 71, who was
in a relationship with Angela for five years, believes his ex-wife is
being ‘scammed’ by her husband, describing her as ‘gullible’.
The former lorry driver told Mail Online: ‘We separated 18 years ago and haven’t had any contact since.
‘The first time I knew about it was when I
read the papers. She has been scammed by a man who just wants to get
into the country.’
‘She has done it now and will have to deal with the consequences,’ he said.
Ever since Angela Nwachukwu got married
to CJ, she has spent over £20,000 of her life savings on his visa
applications and visiting him in Nigeria, but authorities will not allow
him into the UK.
The grand mother of six who has sons aged
50, 47 and 43, is now planning to help CJ come next year on a student
visa to enable him to study his Masters in computing.
